Wow, what a week! Cheers to the weekend, friends! I can’t believe Christmas is 2 weeks from today! Are you ready? It’s been a busy one over here with Home Tours, blog work, but ’tis the season! Looking forward to a weekend at home to finish up Christmas shopping and get started on my wrapping. I’m sure we’ll probably squeeze in a couple Christmas movies, too. Lots to share, so let’s jump into this week’s The Friday Five.

THE FRIDAY FIVE
ONE // GREAT SWEATER PONCHO / TUNIC & A NEW FAVORITE RED LIPSTICK

I found a legging-friendly sweater, so of course had to share it with my people! This long black sweater is almost poncho style with batwing sleeves, a cowlneck and a thick rib knit. It is LONG, so perfect to wear with leggings for plenty of front and back coverage. The best part is the price – its $23, so I only wish it came in more colors!
I’m wearing the S/M medium size and have PLENTY of room width-wise and length, too.
There’s nothing like a bold red lip to make you feel festive, especially with an all black outfit. This red one is my long-time favorite, but I recently tried the red in this trio set and fell in love with the orange-y undertone. It is seriously so pretty. I can’t wait to test out the 2 other pinks in the set which will make for more fun bold lip statements!
TWO // THE CHRISTMAS SNACK MIX YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS WEEKEND!
We are making a batch of this sweet and salty Snack mix over here, so it will be a miracle if it makes it past the weekend! My mom has made this for years and has become a favorite tradition in our house as well! It’s a great recipe to make and gift as well.
Last year I shared how to make the recipe and then gift it in a jar. I even offered cute little gift tags you can attach with ribbon to the jars or any of your holiday presents.

THREE // GIFT SOME SPARKLE THIS YEAR

FOUR // LOCAL HOLIDAY FUN: CHICAGO BOTANIC GARDEN LIGHTSCAPE
That picture makes me lol 😉 The 5 of us headed out to see the lights at the Chicago Botanic Garden and wow, was it beautiful! The lightshow is displayed along a 1.25 mile trail and consists of different displays throughout. We loved the Fire Garden, Zen Japanese Garden and massive Christmas tree the best!
We normally do a local drive-through lightshow where you stay in your car, but it was nice to be outside in the fresh air. The 50 degree temperature didn’t hurt either – it was truly the perfect night!!

It was nice to have something to look forward to all week! We’re going to aim to do something festive and fun each day until Christmas. Working on our list tonight!
FIVE // HOME TOURS + GIFT GUIDES
Both of which is what has consumed my work for the last month! If you haven’t checked out this year’s Christmas Home Tour you can see it all here. I’ve shared my Christmas Dining Room, Christmas Family Room, Mantel and a couple other nooks.
I love getting the house all spiffed up for the holidays so we can enjoy it all season long. The Family Room is my favorite to decorate because its where we spend all our time relaxing and watching movies by the fire each night!
