5 Minute DIY Christmas Tree Place Cards

It doesn’t take much to add a special touch to your holiday table. I love adding simple, personalized details to my tables and an easy way to do it is by making place cards for each guest. I came across the sweetest little trees at the Target $1 spot and thought they would make a nice addition to my Simply Neutral Christmas Tablescape. This year, I added initialed stars to these trees with the help of the boys and today, I’m going to show you how I did it! Here are my DIY Christmas Tree Place Cards.

Each year, I set a Christmas Table in our Dining Room and we all look forward to enjoying a meal in here together. By adding place cards to the table, each person not only knows where to sit, but it adds an extra detail that usually doesn’t go unnoticed.

I’ll never forget the year I made these DIY Ornament Place Cards. After we finished our Christmas dinner, my Grandma asked is she could take hers home with her. My eyes welled up with tears and I told her, “Of course you can!”

DIY CHRISTMAS TREE PLACE CARDS ANYONE CAN MAKE

This year, I added little star tags to the trees with everyone’s initials on them to place around the table. The entire project took about 5 minutes. And these cute Christmas tree Place Cards have been serving as décor on the table since!

Here is what I did!

DIY CHRISTMAS TREE PLACE CARD SUPPLIES

  • mini trees from the Target $1 spot [but any bottle brush or small tree will work]
  • gift tags with string [or you can make your own with cardstock paper, hole punch & string] – this star gift tag set was also from the Target $1 spot
  • sharpie

Again there really isn’t much to this, so anyone can do it. The boys even helped me with ours!

2 // Feed the string through the hole at the top and tie it off so you have 2 strands.

3 // Tie the 2 ends of the string to the top of the tree & put in front of each place setting.

I love how they complement the sprig of garland I slid under each napkin ring.

And that’s all! There are so many variations you could make to these place cards by putting your own twist on my idea. The simplicity of the green trees was exactly the addition I was looking for. A classic and elegant table with darling little trees for everyone!

Now all we need is a yummy meal on the table! I’m working on our Christmas Dinner menu now and already have requests for my Stuffed Mushrooms, so I added the ingredients to my grocery list for the weekend.

Are you hosting? What’s on the menu?!
