Hello! My goodness, it seems crazy that Friday has rolled around again, but also that the month of January is half-way over! The start of 2021 has already presented its fair share of challenges and uncertainties, but we’re doing our best to take it one day at a time. Each day is a chance to start fresh with a positive attitude and a grateful heart, no matter what the day before looked like. Now let’s jump into this week’s The Friday Five!
If you’re here for the first time today, then welcome! On Fridays, I love sharing 5 random tidbits in a casual format. The things I share range from happenings around the house, sale finds, recent purchases, things I’m loving, new recipes and more! It’s my chance to just sit and “chat” with all of you!

THE FRIDAY FIVE
ONE // WE ESCAPED TO THE SUNSHINE
After more than 6 months of elearning and all of the challenges 2020 presented, our family made the decision to pack up and travel down o my parents’ house in Arizona for a little while. We got here on Tuesday night and we don’t know how long we’re going to be gone. What we DO know is that even a couple weeks of sunshine, fresh air, and a change of scenery is exactly the kind of mental break we all need. The boys are continuing their remote learning and the first few days have gone extremely well!
With the time change, they are done with school and ready for the pool by 2 pm!
I’ll be sharing more of our day-to-day on Instagram stories, so if you see spot a cactus and some palm trees, you’ll know why!
TWO // 50% OFF SHOES FOR THE FAMILY
I just saw that Target has 50% off all shoes right now with a Target circle offer! Um hello, cute shoes for under $15. Crazy good deals! I have found some darling shoes at Target in the past and have been pleasantly surprised with the quality!
You can see my Target Try-ons here.
You just can’t beat a pair of white sneakers for $12.50 [these remind me of my Reeboks] or a pair of nude booties for $17.50. We’re talking prices better than Amazon!
Here are some of the ones I’m eyeing:
Have them shipped or order online for in-store pick-up! There are so many cute options, I need to decide which ones I love the most!
THREE // THE GRANOLA I CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF
I love snacking on a handful of granola, putting a scoop in my yogurt or even just eating it like cereal with milk. When I stumbled upon this Sea Salt Chocolate Granola last year at Aldi [well, when Ted did ;)], its become a pantry staple. I told my mom about it awhile back and was pleasantly surprised to find it in her pantry when we arrived.
Yum!
If you love a sweet & salty combo, this is a good one. It reminds me of the dark chocolate sea salt caramels I love so much from Trader Joe’s. Speaking of, I’m considering doing an Aldi or Trader Joe’s Haul in the next week or two. Would you be interested in me sharing some of my favorites?
You can see my Favorite Things to Buy at Trader Joe’s here.
I’m thinking an Aldi one is overdue since I’ve promised it for awhile now. Stay tuned!!
FOUR // GIMME ALL THE HEARTS
Valentine’s Day is around the corner which means all the cute heart decor and accessories are everywhere!
I still love my black and ivory heart sweater and it makes its annual appearance right around now. It’s a great neutral, yet festive piece to wear this time of year, but really anytime!
If you’re looking for other heart-happy items, check out this post here! So many cute finds 😉 I might put together another round-up with more adorable Valentine’s-y items!
FIVE // MEME OF THE WEEK
Does this one resonate with anyone?!!
There are about 20 others I’ve seen recently that have me rolling in laughter. So. much. truth!
I hope you all have a fabulous Friday! I’ll be back next with another edition of Weekend Wants!
