The Friday Five

Hey friends!! Cheers to the weekend! We are almost there! The boys wake up every Friday and announce “It’s the Weekend!!” so I guess we’ll run with it! No plans over here other than some Spring cleaning around the house and then hopefully be able to enjoy some 50 degree weather on Sunday! Today I’m here with The Friday Five so grab your coffee or wine and let’s catch up!

The things I share range from happenings around the house, sale finds, recent purchases, things I’m loving, new recipes and more! It’s my chance to just sit and “chat” with all of you!

ONE // THE PERFECT SPRING DRESS

I happened to stumble across this dress on Amazon while looking for swim cover-ups [see last year’s picks here] and Spring tops to share and decided to give it a shot. You know I can’t resist a good Amazon Find!!

DRESS // QUILTED HEELS // TORTOISE PURSE

Once I tried it on, I was in love. The color is gorgeous, the fit is comfortable and the style is great for Spring. It’s not form-fitting so I feel like you can breathe while wearing it!

It has a cinched waist, with removable belt and pleated bottom. The flutter sleeves are so pretty!

The perfect dress for a Spring wedding or shower and its under $40! It comes in 5 colors and I think the green would be very pretty too and you can’t go wrong with basic black. I’m wearing an XS and have plenty of room, so I would say size down if you’re in between.

TWO // THE SHOW WE BINGED IN A WEEK 

Have you guys watched Firefly Lane yet?

There was a ton of buzz in the last month or so, so of course I had to dive in and check it out for myself. I loved Katherine Heigl growing up so its fun to see her on the screen again. Firefly Lane is a Netflix original and only the first season has been released so far. We knocked out all 10 episodes in about a week, which is pretty easy for us since we our bedtime gets earlier and earlier these days!

It wasn’t necessarily one T would have picked to watch, but he ended up hanging in there with me and liked it! [you can see our list of bingeworthy shows here]

I didn’t realize it was created after the novel “Firefly Lane” by Kristin Hannah. Now I need to get my hands on the book to see how closely related they are. Highly recommend this series about 2 childhood friends finding their way along the journey of adulthood, motherhood, tragedy and friendship.

Spring fever is here and I can’t stop looking at vacation outfit ideas and accessories! I hope to have a couple of posts out in the next week or so for those who are traveling on Spring Break.

FOUR // THRIFTED COFFEE TABLE BOOKS FOR THE WIN

One of my favorite decorating tips is to pop into a thrift store from time-to-time, especially if you’re looking for décor and accessories to style a bookcase, shelf, table, etc. You can find such unique pieces for little to nothing! I grabbed these 3 coffee table books at my local Goodwill for a total of $5.97. They’re neutral and can be used anywhere! 

Pro tip: Peek under the dust jacket to see what the spine and cover look like underneath. It may be exactly the color you’re looking for!

FIVE // EASY 4 INGREDIENT CHICKEN SALAD RECIPE

One of my go-to recipes is swirling around on Pinterest right now so thought I’d share it here with you again! This 4 ingredient Chicken Salad Recipe is one of the easiest things to make and can be served with chips or pretzels as an appetizer or put onto sweet Hawaiian rolls, crescent rolls or pretzel buns as a mini sandwich. We love this stuff around here and actually makes a great dish to serve for Spring showers, luncheons, Mother’s Day, Easter, etc.

You can even make this chicken salad the night before and let it chill overnight! Its so good!
