The Friday Five

Oh my goodness! I have so much to fill you in on! I’ve missed our Friday Five chats these last few weeks so wanted to say hello and Happy June! Today is the boys’ last day of school and we are SO excited for our Summer ahead. The weather has been incredible this week, so we are looking forward to a beautiful weekend of baseball games and the start of Summer fun! Read on for this week’s The Friday Five.

THE FRIDAY FIVE

ONE // AROUND HERE LATELY

It. has. been. BUSY! The end of the school year always is, but I feel like these last couple of weeks have been especially nutty. Something on the calendar 7 days a week!

It’s the start of birthday season over here [the boys are May, June & July, so we celebrated our middle’s 7th birthday with takeout dinner from Portillo’s and a DQ ice cream cake. He loaded up on drones, remote control helicopters, a kite, Super Mario 3D World for his Nintendo Switch, pop-its, Magna-Tiles and more.

I headed out that weekend for some fun in the sun celebrating one of my dear college girlfriends for her Bachelorette party! 9 of us girls spent 3 days catching up over laughs, drinks and late nights by the pool and soaked up every possible ounce of sunshine during the day.

We also went hiking one morning and took in the most beautiful views!

The view from our backyard was pretty fabulous, too.

Just before the holiday weekend, Winston fell at the park and after a visit to the pediatrician and an X-ray later, they determined he had a buckle fracture in his left foot. We took him in to get fitted for a walking boot and were so thankful that was all he needed! No cast! He rocked the boot like a champ and was running and kicking balls trying to keep up with his brothers in no time.

I guess this is par for the course with 3 boys, but ugh so scary when they get hurt.

We spent Memorial Day Weekend with family & friends grilling and hanging out while the kids ran around. The weather was pretty cool Friday & Saturday, but Sunday & Monday made up for it. We were bundled up in winter coats on Saturday night – I think it got down to 40 degrees!!

The short 4 day week was the last week of school, today being the boys’ last day. They headed off with their backpacks, masks, lunch boxes and teacher gifts for the last time this year.

Our first & last day of school picture tradition is to hold their current favorite book. Just a fun way to capture what they’re into each year!

What a year for these kids. I can’t even begin to describe the level of patience, strength and resilience I witnessed as a mom – from the kids and their teachers. We didn’t return back to school in-person until February and it wasn’t until the first week of May that they were actually back in the classroom 5 days per week.

Needless to say, we are happy to say “That’s a Wrap!” on the 2020-2021 school year!! They were such troopers!

TWO // FIRST FLAMINGO FRIDAY TONIGHT!

Our neighborhood is known for being social, especially in the Summer when we host weekly Flamingo Friday parties. Last year, we hosted modified Friday night gatherings in the cul-de-sacs in our subdivision versus rotating families hosting in their backyard.

But tonight, Flamingo Friday is back and I can guarantee everyone is ready for a party! Its going to be a beautiful sunny 90 degree day today and the evening hours look pretty phenomenal too!

THREE // WHAT’S IN MY AMAZON SHOPPING CART

I love rounding up Amazon finds for you guys and I know how much you love them too! I’ve got some fun posts planned for June, but thought it might be fun to share what’s in my Amazon cart currently! If any of them end up being winners, then you’ll certainly hear about them again.

FOUR // PURA HOME

My MIL bought me this Pura Home smart device for my birthday and I just realized I haven’t even mentioned it yet! This thing is fabulous. You can insert 2 different fragrances inside and they will disperse into your home based on the schedule you set in the app on your phone.

I have the Capri Blue fragrance going first thing in the morning and for an hour mid-day and then I have the James Harden Relaxation one going from 7-9 pm each night. You can also turn it on with the tap of a button if you want it to come on instantaneously before guests arrive, for example.

This front cap just snaps on after the fragrances are inserted and the scent comes out at the top.

Love this thing so much! I highly recommend it! I have it placed in the outlet in the living room by the front door / staircase which I think is the perfect location. It also tells you when it’s time for a refill by showing the levels left in the capsule.

They have brand partnerships with Capri Blue, Homesick, Nest, Thymes and more, so you can be sure to have your favorite scents flowing through your home as often as you like.

Such a great housewarming gift idea, too!

This couldn’t ring more true!! And with all 3 kids home starting next week, I’m sure this will be my daily dairy entry as the vicious cycle continues on!
