Woo hoo! It’s Friday! We spent a couple days in Iowa this week visiting family and seeing friends, but I’m back and ready to get busy around the house. We have SO. MUCH. TO DO. It will all get done, but I’m looking forward to the weekend to see how big of a dent I can make in my list! I’m back today with The Friday Five and am chatting but all the random things going on over here, so get comfy and let’s catch up!

THE FRIDAY FIVE
ONE // STILL REELING FROM OUR BIG ANNOUNCEMENT?
Yeah, me too! If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, then you can get caught up here. We are T – 14 days from the big move. We are slowly but surely emptying the house – selling furniture and packing boxes to stack in the garage until our pods arrive. The last couple of months have been so busy and quite honestly, we’ve been so focused on listing & selling our current home that the fact we’re moving across the country hasn’t really set in yet.
The first pod gets here today, so I think once the boxes physically start exiting the house, it’ll start to sink in!
TWO // SQUEEZING IN A FEW OF OUR FAVORITES
There is so little time left before we head to Arizona, so we are doing our best to hit our favorite local spots for dinner or drinks before we go. If only we could drive into the city a few extra times, we’d really be able to hit our old stomping grounds and enjoy some great Chicago restaurants! I hope to go downtown once or twice before we go, but for now we are making the rounds in Vernon Hills & Libertyville to get a taste of our go-to dinner spots!

Lazy Dog – I crave their Tex Mex Salad, cajun Fries, sweet potato tots and their spicy Edamame 😉

THREE // CURRENTLY READING
I started The Island not long ago and am loving it. It’s not surprising though, I’m a big fan of Elin Hilderbrand. Her ability to pull you in to the setting [which is always a dreamy beach location] for a few minutes is why I love her! This book tells the story of a mom and 2 daughters and the mom’s sister who head out to Tuckernuck Island off the coast of Nantucket for a Summer getaway where their family has summered for generations. No phones, no television, no grocery store – a place without distractions where they can escape their troubles.
I’ll probably round up my reads after I finish 5 or so books. You can see my latest reads here.
FOUR // NEW TRADER JOE’S DISCOVERY
Another winner in our house! I’m not sure there is anything I’ve brought home and tried from TJ’s that hasn’t been a hit, so since I’m constantly discovering new things, I feel it’s only right I share them with you! We love this Lime Mayo on our grilled chicken or turkey wraps as well as a little bit on our shrimp tacos. SO GOOD! It’s probably time to do a Trader Joe’s Favorites Part 2 [you can see my original Trader Joe’s favorites here!]
FIVE // LAST MINUTE FATHER’S DAY GIFT IDEAS
We’re only 2 days away from celebrating the men in our life! I rounded up some Father’s Day gift ideas in this post here, but if you still haven’t pulled the trigger on anything yet, here are some items that will arrive by Sunday!
