The Friday Five

Woo hoo! The weekend is upon us! Anyone else completely thrown off on short weeks after a holiday weekend. I don’t know what day it is or where we’re supposed to be! We missed a baseball practice and were flat-out dragging every morning. Here’s to hoping we all have our act together next week 😉 I’m back with a new Friday Five this week to catch you up on some happenings around here, new finds & more!

THE FRIDAY FIVE

While normally our pool days are coming to a close this time of year, we still get to enjoy a few more months now that we live in Arizona! I figured it was probably the last time I could share a pool pic and have it feel even remotely relevant! We lounged in the pool for most of LDW and it was fabulous. SO nice to slow down and hang out with new friends and family.

This is my first FF of the month and I feel like so much has happened! Read on and let’s chat!

ONE // MY BABY STARTED PRESCHOOL! & LABOR DAY WEEKEND SNAPSHOTS

When I miss our Friday chats, I feel like there is always so much to catch you up on. One of the biggest updates from the last 2 weeks is that Winston started preschool!!

He turned 3 in June and we worked VERY hard to get him potty-trained in August to get him ready to start a M/W/F morning session. This little guy has spent almost half his life in the pandemic and we knew a classroom setting for learning and socialization would be exactly what our buddy needed.

He loves his school days and always talks about his “new friends” after class. On the first day, he walked right into the room, hung up his Blaze backpack and asked where the cars were ha! 🤣

TWO // FALL HOME DÉCOR FROM TARGET

Target does it again. Actually always. I’m always so impressed when they release new home décor collections and clothing lines and usually multiples times per season. I’ve most recently been completely smitten with some of the new Fall home décor I found when I popped in the other day.

This tray, vase, pillowblanket & this darling pumpkin ended up in my cart and came home with me.

I love them all, but am probably most impressed with the tray. I have a similar one, but much smaller from West Elm [several years old] and it was 3 times the price. The quality, material and size is really good.

The brass tray only $20 – highly recommend!

The pillow and blanket are on the couch, but I’m considering grabbing a second pillow and using the pair on our bed. These pillows are such a great rich, neutral styling accessory for Fall.

You could use the rust vase as a candle holder or add greens, flowers or faux fall stems. All would work! And there’s even a taller version that is gorgeous too.

Want even more?! I might pop in with a full post next week with alllll the Target Fall things I’m eyeing!

THREE // THE LAST 5 THINGS I BOUGHT ON AMAZON

I love when I see other people sharing their recent Amazon purchases, usually because they are so random! Late night add to cart sessions at their finest. The last 5 things I bought on Amazon were:

FOUR // NEW [SORT OF] BOOKS

News flash! I got my library card this week! I’ve recently borrowed a few books from my mom or aunt and I have some ebooks downloaded, but I was really craving a hardcover book to hold in my hand. I randomly grabbed these 3 new releases from our public library and just started Every Vow You Break.

It’s a new author for me, so I’ll keep you posted on how it is and if I get to the other 2 before they’re due. I have 3 weeks so we’ll see! I’m almost ready to share another Latest Reads with you, so be on the lookout.

FIVE // EASY BREAKFAST IDEA

I made some egg white muffins the other morning and had enough leftovers for a second breakfast for Ted and me the next day. Here is what I did:

I layered the veggies and sausage in the bottom of a greased muffin tin, filled egg whites to the top and then sprinkled feta cheese, salt and pepper on top. I baked for about 15 to 18 minutes at 400°. I topped mine with salsa, Ted’s with green hot sauce and tajin.

So good!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
