Helllooo, Friday and happy Friday to all of you! I feel like I’ve had my head down working on the Dining Room project and now we’re somehow 4 days away from the end of the month! I couldn’t be more ready for a fresh start next week. I’ll have this room challenge behind me and a lot of fun and exciting things coming up! Today, I’m here to chat with you like we do on Fridays. THE FRIDAY FIVE
ONE // MY GOAL TO GET UP & GET DRESSED!
As a SAHM / WFHM it can be a real struggle to get out of the athleisurewear cycle. I mean it’s comfy, it works for the gym or lounging and it doesn’t take a lot of thought or effort to throw it on. Well, I’m trying to be more intentional about getting up and getting ready in the morning. Even if it is only 3-4 days per week. I feel better, more productive and more put together when I’m in something other than sweatpants.
Can you relate?
Even adding a cute coatigan [the one I’m wearing] or sweater blazer over a comfy outfit and taking a minute to throw on some simple accessories counts as an outfit win for me! I’m not talking about jeans & heels during the week!
Would you want to see more casual outfit ideas? Maybe rounded up at the end of each month? I used to do a series called, Casual Chic Style and I’m thinking about bringing something similar back!
TWO // THE BLACK TOP EVERYONE’S BEEN ASKING ABOUT
Did you catch my Week 4 update for the New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge this week? I shared how I gave our new Buffet a more modern look for under $50. It hardly classifies as a DIY project, but nonetheless, I did “do it myself” – with the help of my Dad 😉 He loves helping with house projects and you’ll get to see a big one we just finished in the Dining Room Reveal next Tuesday!
So, I was wearing this black ribbed top w/ poplin detail in Tuesday’s post but didn’t link it! I honestly thought it would be sold out because I bought it on sale during the holidays, buuuuttt… I just checked and it’s still available in small, medium & large.
It’s actually a bodysuit [but don’t be afraid!] and it is stunning on! Truly the perfect date night blouse. Just add jeans and heels!
I’m wearing a size small, but could’ve sized up to a medium for a little more length. You can wear it up higher or down low off your shoulders. The mixed material is so good! and its under $50!
THREE // INSTANT POT RIBS
Anyone else have an Instant Pot and never use it?!
Well, that all changed when I took an Instant Pot class with my mom and aunt a couple weeks ago. I came home super inspired and motivated to get mine out of the box! I’ve only hardboiled eggs so far, but this Instant Pot Ribs recipe looks amazing. We actually did some babyback ribs in class and they were incredibly tasty. All you do is cook them in your Instant Pot and then finish them off with some bbq sauce in the oven on Broil for about 5 minutes. Thinking maybe for the Super Bowl?
