THE FRIDAY FIVE
ONE // INNINGS FESTIVAL IN TEMPE

You may remember some of these shots from a couple weeks ago when I attended Innings Fest with my college roommate & bestie and a big group of friends. They are her childhood friends who I’ve gotten to know over the years and they’ve become my own. One of our friend’s husbands plays in a Chicago band, The Hemispheres and they play for the show, “Off the Mound with Ryan Dempster” at the fest. It’s got a late night show vibe and his guests are all baseball legends. The festival combines baseball & music and typically takes place the weekend before Spring training begins here in Tempe, AZ.
Spring training hadn’t begun yet, because of the MLB lockout, but we still managed to have a great time! But as of last night, Major League Baseball and the MLB players Association reached an agreement and the season is set to start on April 7th.
Innings Fest is a 2 day festival held at Tempe Beach Park and you can see the lineup of bands here. The headliners were The Foo Fighters on Saturday night and Tame Impala on Sunday night, but I loved seeing Fitz and the Tantrums and Black Pumas.
These girls come every year, so its just a bonus that we live here now and I get to join them!
Already looking forward to Innings Fest 2023!
TWO // CHICK’FIL’A SAUCE DUPE: A HEALTHIER OPTION
Did you know you can buy an entire bottle of Chick Fil’A sauce? When we discovered this last year, it was a total game-changer. We no longer had to hoard the sauce packs from the restaurant!!
Fast forward to last week when I stumbled upon this “Famous Cluckin'” sugar free dipping sauce. Wouldn’t you know it tastes EXACTLY like Chick Fil’A sauce, but with a fraction of the fat, calories & sugar.
G Hughes makes quite a few sugar free sauces, but we’d only tried the BBQ sauce.
This tastes great on just about everything – salads, sandwiches and turkey wraps! YUM!
THREE // SPRING KIMONOS
I love a good kimono because you can wear it as a top layer to your outfit or as a swim cover-up. I’ve shared quite a few in the past and have a couple new ones on their way to me. I usually grab cute under $30 ones from Amazon.
A great option with shorts, jeans or just over your suit!! Here are some long-time favorites below:

FOUR // HELLO, HELLO FRESH!
Have you tried any of the meal delivery services out there yet? I know they’re are quite a few, but when several of my family members started raving about Hello Fresh AND sent their coupon code my way, I decided to give it a shot.
We received our first delivery this week and have already made 2 of the 3 dinners. I selected the 4 person option and figured the boys may or may not try the meal, but if they want to, we’d have enough. Otherwise, leftovers are great!
So far, we tried the BBQ Pork burgers with potato wedges and the Yogurt Marinated Chicken with Lemon Cous cous and chili roasted carrots. Both were delicious!
One misperception about these services, is that there is no prep work. Well, there definitely is. The food comes pre-portioned with detailed cooking & baking instructions, but you still have to slice, dice, season, etc.
I personally loved knowing that these 2 meals were ready in the fridge this week and all I needed to do was pick which night I was going to prepare them! It saved me from meal planning, grocery shopping or [adding items to my instacart] and the bulk of my measuring!
I skipped next week, but plan to try another round in the next week or 2 and then I can eventually cancel if we no longer find it convenient or beneficial for our family meal planning. I’ll keep you posted!!

FIVE // READY FOR COUNTRY CONCERT SEASON
We’re going to see Walker Hayes this weekend, so went looking for a fun graphic tee to wear to the concert with jeans, boots & a jacket. I landed on these 4 favorite options and ordered 3 ha!

Today is the boys’ last day of school before their Spring Break, so I’m resting up today lol
We’ve got Henry’s Championship basketball game tonight & 2, maybe 3 basketball games for Simon in the morning. Then off to Ostrich Fest with the kids and back for the concert [adults-only] later Saturday night!
