Gosh, life has been a whole lotta crazy lately! I have so much to fill you in on from these last couple of weeks so I thought today would be as good of a day as any. A few new finds, sales & a little life in between. Here is The Friday Five!

THE FRIDAY FIVE
ONE // NSALE STILL IN STOCK
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is still going strong! It runs until 7/31 and while there is low to no inventory on many items, there are still some faves in stock!
If you are going to get anything from the sale, grab yourself a pair of the Zella joggers. I have had the black ones for 2 years now and they are nothing short of amazing. They are silky smooth, with pockets and a drawstring waist and are hands-down my favorite pants to wear when traveling. I bought the green pair this year and wow, so good!
I have a size small in both colors. The joggers are on sale for $42 and then will go to $65 after the sale. Even if you’re on the fence, grab them now and try before they raise the prices

TWO // DEJA VU IN THE BASEMENT
In case you missed my IG stories yesterday, our basement flooded. 5 years ago our washing machine backed up in our last house and flooded a large portion of our main floor and came down through the ceiling into the basement as well. [You can see the projects that resulted – Laundry Room, Basement Bathroom, Basement Guestroom and Basement Family Room] This time, it was our sump pump that failed, but nonetheless, it feels like deja vu. Never in a million years would I have thought we’d have water in the basement in Arizona. It’s so dry here, but we also have a pretty wild monsoon season in the Summer. We were thrilled to have a basement home since they are so rare and coveted here.
I guess we were just unlucky.
As a result, I have a few unexpected projects on my hands. They’ve completed the dry out and tear-out process, so we will need some drywall repair throughout the basement, new baseboards, carpet and then a full bathroom rebuild.
I’m not sure of the timeline yet, but hopefully we can keep things moving. The big boys have been sleeping in the Guestroom since they don’t have a functioning bathroom downstairs right now. Stay tuned!!

THREE // LAKE WEEKEND
Thankfully we were able to get out of the house last Saturday to spend some time on the Lake with my aunt & uncle and some friends. They have a boat on Canyon Lake and it is absolutely stunning there.

The scenery makes you feel like you’re in a movie. I especially love seeing the cactus on top of the canyons – very picturesque.
While we did have a great few hours relaxing on the water, a monsoon hit and we had a pretty rocky ride back to the dock to wait out the storm before driving home!
The storms hit pretty hard last week, that’s for sure!
FOUR // A MINI YES DAY + BOY MAMA HAT
In honor of the boys’ last day of Summer, we decided to go all in and pack it to the brim with extra fun stuff. We had been feeling pretty guilty about being completely unavailable during their last few days of Summer due to the water restoration crews and contractors in and out, so we made it up to them on Tuesday by giving them a mini “YES” day.
Donuts, haircuts, shopping for toys & treats, a movie and the waterpark all on the day before school starts. We had such a fun time, but we were all ready for bed come 8 pm. Mom & Dad especially 😉
We definitely went out with a bang!

FIVE // THAT’S A WRAP ON SUMMER — BACK-TO-SCHOOL
Summer, that’s a wrap and we are ready for SCHOOL! Yes, school started back on Wednesday for our district and Winston’s first day was yesterday. 7 weeks sure do go by fast, but its short and sweet, and by the end, everyone is ready to get out of the heat!
5th and 3rd for Henry and Simon and Pre-K 4 for Winston! New schools for all and they took on the start of the year with such brave and eager spirits. The older boys are even back on the bus after 3 years. I’m super proud of these little humans and can’t wait to see how they grow and evolve over the course of the school year!
I hope you guys have the best weekend! We are celebrating Henry’s 10th birthday and Simon has basketball playoffs!
