The Friday Five

Hi girls and happy Friday! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve published a Friday Five! Summer is in full swing over here and since we’re on a modified year-round school year, we go back in less than a month! We’re currently visiting back home on our “Midwest Tour” so I thought today was a good day to do a little catch-up – here is a new The Friday Five!

You can get caught up here if you’ve missed any past posts in The Friday Five series.

THE FRIDAY FIVE

ONE // FREE PEOPLE LOOK FOR LESS TEE

shirt // shorts [similar] // sunglasses // colorful beaded necklace

This Free People inspired striped tee has been a top-seller so far this month after I shared it tee in a reel on Instagram. I’m in a size small and love the boxy cropped fit. The contrasting red neckline is so fun with the brown and white stripe!

There are several other color options available and I’ve linked them here and you can see them below!

TWO // 4TH OF JULY OUTFIT INSPO

I’ve shared 2 posts this Summer with lots of 4th of July outfit ideas included! You can see me wearing 3 different outfit options here and 5 more outfit inspo collage boards in this 4th of July Style Guide here!

THREE // MILESTONE BIRTHDAY GIFT IDEA

We’ve had another one of the boys hit the 10th birthday mile marker so thought I would re-share my milestone birthday gift idea! I first shared this idea after T turned 40 and I gifted him 40 gifts!

I bought this pack of brown paper gift bags and found large black number stickers at Dollar Tree and labeled gifts 1 through 40 for him to open.

The idea was originally my Mom’s who first did this for me on my 30th birthday! We love this tradition and filling up the bags with some of their favorite things – anything from trinkets, candy, gum, games, etc. I like to have their main gift as the last one to open!

For T, I surprised him with a trip to Vegas & tickets to the Bears vs. Raiders game for gifts 39 & 40. The rest of the gifts were snacks, IPA’s, golf balls, etc.

Try it! It’s fun!

FOUR // CANDLE HOLDER HACK

While visiting my sister in Chicago this week, she showed me the “viral” $5 Walmart planter that fits a Bath & Body Works 3-wick candle inside. I was like, “oh, I haven’t seen that yet!”

This little black planter immediately went into my cart and I can’t wait to unpackage it when we get back home!

And P.S. How cute is the Welcome sign she made for us?! 🙂

The candle / planter duo would make a great gift too!

FIVE // 4TH OF JULY CANDY SNACKLEBOX

This box is the cutest to fill up for any and all things! I did a red, white and blue candy box – but how fun for meats and cheeses, fruit, snacks, etc. I’ve seen them as a picnic snack box, a boat snack box and more! The options are endless.

Its a fun twist on a charcuterie or candy board!

The boys were in candy heaven and truly shocked that I even put this together! It’s for a holiday / party so it was acceptable!

Here is the link to the box I used and all of the candy options I fill it with are below!:
