The Perfect Downtown Palm Springs Location

One of the things we loved most about Palm Mountain Resort & Spa is its location right off Palm Canyon Drive. Everything—from restaurants and shops to coffee and galleries—is just steps away!

It made the entire weekend feel effortless. We spent the mornings strolling downtown, popping into a few local boutiques, and grabbing coffee before heading back to the resort to relax by the pool.

For a couple’s trip, especially, that walkability adds so much to the experience!

Our Pool & Mountain View Room

One of our favorite parts of staying at Palm Mountain Resort & Spa was the view from our room. We were lucky enough to have a pool and mountain view, which perfectly captured the classic Palm Springs atmosphere.

From our room, we could look out over the palm-lined courtyard pool, with the San Jacinto Mountains rising in the background—an iconic Palm Springs scene that made mornings and evenings feel extra special.

The room itself was bright and comfortable with a relaxed desert style that fit the destination perfectly. It felt like a peaceful retreat after spending the day exploring downtown, lounging by the pool, or heading out for dinner nearby.

Being able to wake up, open the curtains, and see palm trees swaying against the mountains was one of those little details that made the stay feel like a true getaway.

Poolside Relaxation in the Desert Sun

No Palm Springs stay would be complete without pool time, and the pool at Palm Mountain has that classic desert-resort feel.

Towering palm trees surround the courtyard pool, creating a peaceful oasis right in the middle of downtown. We spent a good portion of our afternoons lounging poolside, soaking up the sunshine, and enjoying the laid-back Palm Springs atmosphere.

It’s the kind of setting where hours slip by without you noticing.

Boutique Palm Springs Vibes

Part of what makes Palm Mountain Resort & Spa so special is how it captures that classic Palm Springs boutique hotel feel. The property blends relaxed desert style with the charm of a smaller, more intimate resort, creating an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and effortlessly stylish.

From the palm-lined courtyard and sun-soaked pool to the cozy lobby spaces and walkable downtown location, it delivers that signature Palm Springs experience—laid-back luxury with a touch of vintage desert glamour. It’s the kind of place where you can spend the afternoon lounging poolside, stroll out for dinner on Palm Canyon Drive, and end the evening under the stars just steps from your room.

A Welcoming Lobby with Desert Charm

One of the first things we noticed when arriving at Palm Mountain Resort & Spa was how charming and inviting the lobby felt. It has that relaxed Palm Springs aesthetic—stylish but comfortable—with warm desert tones, thoughtfully curated artwork, and cozy seating areas that make you want to linger for a moment before heading out to explore.

The fireplace adds an extra touch of warmth and charm, especially in the evenings when the desert air cools down. It’s the kind of space that feels both welcoming and beautifully designed, setting the tone for a laid-back yet elevated stay in the heart of downtown Palm Springs.

Between the art, comfortable seating, and the overall atmosphere, it felt like a perfect little pause point during the day—whether returning from an afternoon by the pool or heading out for dinner nearby.

A Relaxing Spa Experience

To make the weekend even more relaxing, we booked a massage at the resort’s spa.

After a morning of exploring downtown, stepping into the calm spa environment felt like the perfect reset. The massage was exactly what we needed—quiet, restorative, and a great way to fully settle into vacation mode.

If you’re planning a couples getaway, I highly recommend scheduling a treatment during your stay.

The Convenient Market

Another small detail that made our stay even easier was the resort’s on-site market.

It was perfect for grabbing quick snacks, drinks, and essentials throughout the weekend. Whether we needed something for the pool or a quick morning bite before heading out for the day, it was incredibly convenient to have right on property.

A Birthday Dinner with a View

One of the highlights of our trip was celebrating a birthday dinner just across the street at Four Saints, located on the rooftop of Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Hotel.

The restaurant sits on the top floor and offers incredible panoramic views of Palm Springs and the surrounding mountains. Watching the sunset from up there while enjoying dinner made the evening feel extra special.

The atmosphere was sophisticated yet relaxed—perfect for a celebration—and the short walk back to the hotel afterward was the ideal way to end the night.

Why We Loved Palm Mountain Resort & Spa

For a quick couples getaway, Palm Mountain Resort & Spa checked all the boxes:

  • Prime downtown Palm Springs location
  • Beautiful pool courtyard surrounded by palms
  • Relaxing spa services
  • Convenient on-site market
  • Walking distance to incredible restaurants like Four Saints

It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy the sunshine, and soak in everything Palm Springs does best.

After just two nights, we left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and already thinking about our next visit!
