How we’ve already arrived back at Friday again, I have no idea! Especially since the days feel like years. We are all hanging in there and doing our part by social distancing and staying home. It’s technically the boys’ Spring Break this week and since we were supposed to be soaking in the sunshine in Arizona and Palm Springs, we are thoroughly enjoying a break from e-learning. We’ve traded in homeschooling for bike rides, scooter rides, backyard baseball, scrabble and arts and crafts…and long walks, reading, TV binging and red wine & OREO’s for me! I’m back today with another The Friday Five!
Come settle in and get comfy [in your loungewear, of course ;)] and hear what’s inside this week’s dose of random tidbits!
THE FRIDAY FIVE
ONE || VACAY SELF TANNING DROPS
Because we could all use a little Summertime glow right about now! Right?! I use these drops mixed in with my facial moisturizer to give my skin a subtle hint of color. I’ve also mixed with body moisturizer and used on my neck and face. It’s all-natural and little bit goes a long way.
And can I just tell you how good it felt to shower and get ready with hair and makeup this week?! Yes, it was a big undertaking, but it was just what I needed to feel like a human! If you’re having one of those days trying to balance work and the kids and the house and the rest of it all, try it.
It might be worth the extra effort!!
DOTTIE BANGLE || ENGRAVABLE BANGLE || BEADED BRACELET || HORN NECKLACE || REVERSIBLE HEART NECKLACE || DOUBLE-TAKE RING || BLACK T-SHIRT || DISTRESSED JEANS || GOLD MIRROR
And if you’re looking for any other beauty recommendations, I shared 10 of my favorite beauty items on the blog this week.
TWO || FAVORITE WINE GLASSES
We’ve had these edge wine glasses since we got married and have only broken 1 so far! We also have the edge champagne flutes. You may recognize these glasses because I typically share them in my tablescape posts and in any entertaining essentials. We’ve been enjoying our occasional glass a bit more frequently lately and I love a good stemmed glass!
If you prefer stemless, these and these stemless ones are really pretty, too.
THREE || BILLIE RAZOR
I’m sure you’ve seen this razor by now as I feel like it’s taken the world by storm in the last 6 months. But if you haven’t, then I highly recommend you hop on board. It’s a great shave with charcoal shave soap around the blades, comes with a magnetic holder for your shower wall and then you just switch out the blades after they ship new ones to you as often you choose.
It’s the best $9 I’ve spent in a long time! I got the blush color in my starter kit and just recently purchased the travel case for it.
FOUR || GREEN GODDESS DRESSING
As if I needed another reason to love Trader Joe’s. This recent find has quickly become a favorite. It’s great on salad, scrambled eggs and even on top of a burger. So yummy.
FIVE || HAPPY MAIL + THESE MEMES!!
We’ve been playing, gaming, crafting, reading and writing! Give me any and all things to help pass the time. One activity we started during our first week of social distancing was writing letters to grandparents. We’ve sent off our cards and hand-drawn pictures to both sets of grandparents and now we’re making our way to the boys’ great grandparents. Everyone loves happy mail and I know this simple act has been bringing smiles to all of their faces.
The boys were so pumped to do this and “mail” them all by themselves! 😉
I have a huge box of plain colored notecards and matching envelopes which has come in super handy for this! The boys pick out their color and go to town! We’ve just used basic printer paper to draw the pictures on. A few minutes and a sweet note [and hilarious picture] later, off they went!
And these memes, you guys!
The gift that keeps on giving! I don’t know about you, but these memes floating around right now are getting me through the long days and nights. Here is one of my favorites from the week:
There is so much to feel sad, mad, frustrated and scared about right now, but keeping a smile on my face and enjoying these precious days all together as a family is the route I’m trying to take.
And like I said, red wine and OREO’s help, too.
In other news, we’re pumped to start season 3 of Ozark tonight! It’s definitely high up on our favorite binge-worthy shows and next week, I hope to start Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu. I only have 20 pages left to read in the book!
What are you up to this weekend?!
Miss one? Here are the rest of The Friday Five posts. so you can get caught up!
