The Friday Five

Happy Fri-YAY! It has been a WEEK, but we’ve made it to the end. Everyone’s emotions were high, patience levels were low and we are more than ready for the weekend! Don’t get me wrong, I am beyond ready to have some fun things on the calendar to look forward to, but its’ given us a chance to slow down. And I’ll admit, having no agenda on the weekends has been nice. What about you?! Today, I’m back with The Friday Five and am excited to share some fun, random tidbits from throughout the week!

We wrapped up our 8th week of remote learning and included lots of behind-the-scenes Teacher Appreciation Week activities that the boys participated in. It makes my mom heart sad to witness how badly they miss their teachers and classrooms, but happy to see all the joy they feel when they talk about them, write about them and sing about them! 

Kudos to all of you teachers out there. We ALL appreciate you more than you know!

Now on to this week’s The Friday Five  – [more] new leggings, the cutest tote bag, outdoor furniture + decor, April Top Sellers and a Mother’s Day throwback!

ONE || ANOTHER ADDITION TO MY “STAY AT HOME” UNIFORM ROTATION

I know, I know. I’ve shared more leggings and loungewear in the last 2 months than I have in years, but we’re all living in it and loving it. It’s still Pajamas All Day around here at least 3-4 days per week! Last week, I shared these distressed leggings, but I have another new pair to dish on 😉

But I can tell you they are high-waisted, thick and stretchy PLUS pockets! Isn’t the snakeprint detail so subtle and adorable? There is also a gray camo and leopard version available. These leggings run TTS and I’m in a size small. If you are in between, then I would size down – lots of stretch!

TWO || THE CUTEST SUMMER BAG

I spotted this bag earlier this week and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. It’s been in my cart and I just pulled the trigger on it! I mean leopard print + straw bag + the cutest tassel = my new Summer carryall! 

I’ll be sure to report back and share once it arrives!

THREE || TARGET SAVES THE DAY + OUR BACK DECK PLANS

We’ve had back deck drama for several years now. Our outdoor sectional cushions are past the point of salvaging, but the shape and sizing is close to custom. Ugh! I thought about having them recovered but didn’t want to pay a premium to do so. 

We were almost ready to purchase a new set of furniture altogether and then I decided to look for cushions one last time. I knew we wouldn’t be able to find the right size and shape for the curved back of the sofa, but the seat cushions, just maybe.

I lucked out and found 7 deep seat cushions in a light linen fabric in almost the perfect size. I decided to order them to see if they’d work. They arrived and look great! They are nearly perfect [slightly too small], but I’m going to try a simple hack to see if I can perfect the look even more! Stay tuned 😉

We also ordered this pillow, this umbrella stand and I’m looking at this firepit table or this one as part of the refresh! Bring on Summer!

FIVE || MOTHER’S DAY THROWBACK

My mom, Henry and me on my first Mother’s Day.

A picture and memory I will cherish forever. While I can’t be with my own mom this year and haven’t seen her since February, I am still looking forward to celebrating.

Mother’s Day is going to look a little different but I’m still planning to make the most of it! Mimosas, planting flowers and hanging with my crew! I have permission to hide in my room and go for a drive to have some peace and quiet if I need a time-out from all the togetherness. After all, we’ve had quite a bit lately!!!

To all of you Mamas out there, happy Mother’s Day! I hope you get to do a little of whatever brings you joy 😉
