Friday! I need you in my life! It’s no secret things have been a little crazy over here lately. 7 months, with all 5 of us home, 3 kids, 2 elearning, 1 toddler, 1 WFH husband and 1 crazy mom! It’s definitely been an experience, which is all the more reason to celebrate the arrival of Friday every week! Today, I’ve got this week’s The Friday Five. I’m so happy you’re here because I’ve got lots to share!
Do you get as excited as I do for Friday? It’s like we can all let out our breath that we’ve been holding all week. The kids will be wrapping up their week of elearning which takes a lot of the stress and pressure off of all of us. There’s less structure and time for everyone to do their thing – play, relax, hang-out and get caught up!
If you’ve missed any of the posts in the The Friday Five series, you can see them all here.
It’s a chance for me to share the random tidbits from throughout the week — sale finds, favorite things, recipes and more! It’s a post I truly enjoy writing and sharing with you. And I’m always open to suggestions and happy to answer questions you have about anything! You can leave a comment at the bottom of this post or feel free to email me at thisisourbliss@gmail.com
Now let’s go!
THE FRIDAY FIVE
ONE // THE PERFECT CAMEL TRENCH COAT
coat // waffle knit top // jeans // sneakers
I love the classic look of a trench coat. It adds instant sophistication to any outfit! I landed on this Amazon find and absolutely adore it! This trench coat is under $60 with a notched collar, single-breasted, pockets and the perfect length. It’s a wool blend so that perfect in-the-middle of lightweight but some warmth and substance.
I’m in an XS, but I would get your tts if you want to wear sweaters or sweatshirts underneath. I have a little room, but not much!!
I’ve been wearing it nonstop because it goes with everything! A casual jeans and sweatshirt, a dressy look with boots or even elevate a loungewear set. The possibilities are endless! There’s just something about a trench coat that makes me feel pulled together.
Here are a few other similar options if you’re looking to add a trench coat to your closet, too.
TWO // STELLA & DOT SHOP FOR A CAUSE BOUTIQUE
As a Stella & Dot Stylist, one of my favorite times of the year is October, not only does our Holiday collection launch, but it’s also the month we run our Shop for a Cause in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
Each year, Stella & Dot partners with the Bright Pink Foundation by offering a boutique of products and then donates a percentage of sales to them! The products are part of a curated collection and the pieces offered are beautiful as always!
From October 1, 2020 to October 31, 2020 11:59PT, Stella & Dot will donate 20% of the retail purchase price of eligible sales from the Breast Cancer Awareness Collection to Bright Pink, an organization focused on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. You can see all the items and SHOP THE “PINK” BOUTIQUE HERE!
Some of my personal favorites are the Vacay Self Tanning Drops [add a few drops to your moisturizer], Whiplash Mascara [my everyday mascara!], Crush It Beauty Bag, Renegade Friendship Bracelet, Celestial Choker, Engravable heart necklace, Marilyn Marquis necklace, Love Link Necklace and the Heart to Heart Tote.
These items make lovely gifts for the holidays or in support of survivor friends and family.
***As a thank you, I’ll waive shipping on any orders of Bright Pink products over $50. As soon as your order goes through, I will message you and then refund your shipping amount!! Or message me before you order with questions!
THREE // ONE ROOM CHALLENGE UPDATE
If you caught my post last week, then you saw I am participating in the Fall 2020 One Room Challenge. You can read all the details in this post, but the short version is I’m updating Simon’s [our middle boy’s] bathroom over the 6 week timeframe. The bathroom is in the exact same state as when we moved in. And like the other bathrooms in the house, it screams 90’s with it’s yellow walls, oak cabinetry and bright shiny brass fixtures.
I didn’t get an update out this week, but I have materials on order and can’t wait to get things moving! Here is a look at the design and look I’m going for if you missed it in last week’s most:
EEEK I’m so excited and so is he!
FOUR // BOGO 50% OFF BOOTS!
Target has another amazing deal going on right now! Buy one, get one 50% off women’s boots! I gave into temptation and ordered 2 pair of boots, but was honestly eyeing about 10 different pairs! They are killing it this season with their fashion!! So many great designer dupes, especially in the shoe department.
These and these are on their way to me, so I’ll share when they arrive! I also have been looking for a new camo jacket, so I ordered this one! I’ll be sharing ways to style it soon. First up will be over this pink sweater!
Here are the other hiking boots I loved:
And it was hard to resist these cute booties, too!:
Almost all of them are only $39.99 to begin with and then add $20 saving to your purchase of 2, it’s a no-brainer! Vince Camuto, Sam Edelman, Steve Madden and Sorel are some of my favorite designer brand boots, but they are always upwards of $100-$200. Bringing less expensive options into your wardrobe helps get you the trendier looks for less – especially if you’re unsure of the trend. Like
combat & hiking boots?!
Then if you decide you love the style, you’ve had time to save for the real deal [and wait for the real deal to go on sale, too!]
FIVE // MEME OF THE WEEK
T, is that you?! This made me laugh out loud.
Sharing the house with my new “co-worker” this year has brought many laughs actually, but when this happens, I lose my mind. Does your husband lose all control when the wifi is slow?! ha!
Have a great day and a wonderful weekend! I hope you’re able to enjoy the Fall weather and get in some R&R too!
