Anyone else ready for Friday, like they’ve never been ready for a Friday before?! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ The house is 90% decorated for Christmas and we have a fairly low-key weekend ahead, so I’m looking forward to just lounging around and hanging out! I’m sure there will be some form of a Christmas movie & hot cocoa combo in my future, which I’m not mad about one bit. Today I’m here with The Friday Five, so come on over and let’s chat!
Where I share updates around the house, new finds, random tidbits, tips, sales & more!!

When I think of a place to find the most quantity of statement tops & dresses, I instantly think of Express. I am really loving the ruffled tops and puff shoulder moments going on in fashion right now and Express carries SO many stylish options!
A hack for a Costco favorite – just a new & improved way to enjoy it! I’ve always loved buying the fresh chicken salad made with rotisserie chicken from Costco. It wasn’t until my mom started “customizing” her container when she brought it home. I took a few tips from her and now do the same!
I take the container of chicken salad and scoop it into a bowl [I use the medium one from this glass set or this melamine set]. Then add a couple handfuls of dried cranberries and a handful of slivered almonds or pecan pieces. Mix it all up and top it with salt & pepper. Put the lid on your bowl and you have fresh chicken salad with a few added goodies ready to go.
Eat it with crackers, pretzels, in a wrap or just in a small bowl like I do.
It is seriously so good! I love my 4 ingredient chicken salad recipe, but sometimes you need a quick & easy option as an alternative to making it yourself!
ADVENT CALENDAR
I don’t know how or why I was so late to the advent calendar party! Each year, I thought I would stumble upon a really unique option and then would end up throwing in the towel by the time the 1st of December rolled around.

The other day, I found this darling oversized calendar and knew it was time! Growing up, my sister and I each had a similar calendar. We woke up each morning to find “treats from the elf” if we were good! We’ve always done Elf on the Shelf around here for the boys, albeit, very basic placements and not much creativity behind it. But nonetheless, he shows up! This year, we’ve added the advent calendar to our routine and the boys love checking the pocket for treats and moving the little penguin one step closer to Christmas π
SNEAK PEEK OF OUR 1ST FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT IN ARIZONA
We managed to pull of family photos the day before Thanksgiving and our sweet new photographer, Cori Roberts managed to get the photos back to me the very next day! I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. I had a vision of a photographer capturing moments of our family together in the desert – with cactus, mountains and the sunset as our backdrop. And she absolutely nailed it!
I’ll share more photos soon as well as our family’s Christmas card, but here are a few of my favorites π
These boys need to stop growing immediately. I fear I will be the shortest one in the family in no time at all.
THERED BLOUSE FOR THE HOLIDAYS
If you want one red piece to pull out this holiday season, this is IT! I fell in love with this ruffled red blouse with the daintiest ruffled collar and puff-sleeve detail the moment I spotted it. Once I got it home and tried it on, I fell in love all over again. I love an exaggerated sleeve or shoulder and this one has all the bells and whistles of a statement top. Plus the bold red is just gorgeous this time of year!
I shared this red top and a few other pieces I recommend grabbing from Target for the holiday season. They are inexpensive options and can take you through winter. I’m hoping I can wear the gray or black sweater sometime soon, but its still 85 degrees down here!!
That’s about all for today, friends. If you missed any posts from this week, you can find them below:
I’ll be working a little bit over the weekend preparing for my big Christmas Home Tour on Monday and working to get out a few more gift guides for you, too!
