Hello, friends! We’ve somehow made it to the last Friday in January and I’m scratching my head wondering how?! It feels like Christmas was just last week! There has been a lot going on around here, so I’m popping in to chat with you in a new Friday Five.

THE FRIDAY FIVE

I’ve spent most of January working on our Stairwell Project for the New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge. I’ll be revealing the space next week so be sure not to miss it! I also just got back from a girls’ trip to Marco Island with my mom, sister, aunts and cousin. It was my first time there and it turned out to be the perfect getaway! We woke up to a spectacular sunrise and ocean view each morning with overall gorgeous weather!

Now let’s chat about all the random happenings, finds, sales and more…

ONE // ALL RED ATHLEISURE LOOK

I don’t typically were a ton of color, but something about this fire-red sherpa pullover with matching leggings was calling my name! I randomly came across it and decided to try it out. It was on sale [still is] so thought why not?!

It turned out to be such a fun look!

I sized up to a medium in the pullover and ordered my normal size small in the leggings.

TWO // TRAVEL GADGET HACK

My mom showed up with the greatest little travel gadget for our trip last week. It’s a bungee strap to secure your carry-on bag on top of your suitcase.

So smart! I took a video of her at the airport so I’ll share that in stories later today so you can see the bungee in action ha!

She also found these travel hangers and brought them along too.

There are never enough hangers in hotel or resort closets, especially if you’re sharing a room with other over-packers 🙂 They extend at different lengths too – for children’s clothes, men’s and women’s!

THREE // MY RECENT VICI ORDER

I plan to do a full VICI haul post and try-on videos with you guys, but wanted to share here first in case things start to sell out! Everything is so cute!

Of course, my packages arrived while I was on vacation, but I’ll get to work this weekend so you can see everything on me.

FOUR // ROASTED CARROT RECIPE THE WHOLE FAMILY LOVES

We’ve been eating a TON of roasted carrots around here lately! I first prepared them several months ago as part of our hello fresh meal and ever since, Winston requests them at least 3 times per week. I tried this Easy Crockpot Glazed Carrot recipe for Christmas dinner and now I add a little honey and a dash of thyme to the carrots during the week before I put them in the oven.

I’m constantly searching for ways to incorporate vegetables the kids will actually eat into our dinners, so if you have any other favorites, please do share!

FIVE // POTTERY BARN INSPIRED BOOKSHELF

I was recently thumbing through the pages of the Spring 2023 Pottery Barn catalog and the bookshelves in the back corner of this page & this page caught my eye.

I realized I have very few books actually displayed in my built-ins and the ones I do, are stacked horizontally. There are quite a few books stacked on my coffee tables, etc., but there are also a TON tucked away in storage, so I decide to pull them out and see how they would like upright on the shelf.
